J Allard.
Chief Experience Officer and Chief Technology Officer, Entertainment and Devices Division, Microsoft

J Allard is responsible for leading Microsoft’s first and highly successful foray into video gaming with Xbox, and subsequently Xbox 360. A fifteen-year veteran of the company, he is also well known for playing a critical role in shaping Microsoft’s internet strategy in the early 1990s. Today, Allard oversees all design and engineering for the Xbox and Xbox 360 consoles, peripherals, Microsoft’s multiplayer online service Xbox Live, as well as development tools for video game developers.

More broadly, as the Entertainment and Devices Division’s (E&D) Chief Experience and Technology Officer, he is responsible for the technical architecture and user experience related to products and services within the division. Allard works closely with technical leaders across the company to align E&D product teams with Microsoft’s overall software and services strategy and product architecture to deliver Connected Entertainment experiences for consumers.

Among his accolades, Allard has been named as one of The Hollywood Reporter’s “Top 35 Entertainment Execs Under 35” and Details’ list of “Most Powerful Men Under 38“. He is also a member of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leader programme.
