MINISTERIAL APPOINTMENT

The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of David Maxim Triesman Esq as a Lord in Waiting.

 

The Queen has also been graciously pleased to signify her intention of conferring a Peerage of the United Kingdom for Life upon David Triesman on his appointment as a Lord in Waiting.

David Maxim Triesman (60) has been the General Secretary of the Labour Party since 2001. From 1993 to 2001 he was General Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Association of University Teachers, where he oversaw a period of intense growth. He has also been Visiting Scholar in Economics at the University of Cambridge and Visiting Fellow of Wolfson College since 2000; in 2003 he was made Senior Associate Fellow of the Warwick Manufacturing Group, School of Engineering at the University of Warwick.
