Sustainable Farming and Food

The Government launched its Strategy for Sustainable Farming and Food: Facing the Future in England on 12 December 2002.

The strategy builds on the invaluable work conducted by the Policy Commission on the Future of Farming and Food last year. It sets out how industry, Government and consumers can work together to secure a sustainable future for our farming and food industries, as viable industries contributing to a better environment and healthy and prosperous communities.

Two other documents are published alongside the strategy:

• Response to the Report of the Policy Commission on the Future of Farming and Food by HM Government and
• Farming and Food's Contribution to Sustainable Development: Economic and Statistical Analysis
