19th December 2003: SUCCESSOR TO STRATEGIC MARKETING PLAN
Some of you have been asking when DESO's Strategic Marketing Plan (SMP)
for 2003/04 will be published. The simple answer is that the SMP is being
replaced by a brand new market analysis area on the DESO Partners website
called the Strategic Market Analysis (SMA).

13th October 2003: UNIQUE RED ARROWS AND INDIAN AIR FORCE
AEROBATIC TEAM JOINT DISPLAY
The
first ever joint display by the Indian Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Surya
Kiran (literally “Ray of Sun”), and the Royal Air Force Aerobatic
Team, the Red Arrows, dazzled spectators at Hindan Air Force Base (in the
outskirts of New Delhi) on Monday 13 October.more

3rd September 2003: GEOFF HOON WELCOMES HAWK SELECTION
FOR INDIA
The Secretary of State for Defence, Geoff Hoon, today welcomed the news
that the Indian Government had selected the BAE SYSTEMS Hawk as the new Advanced
Jet Trainer for the Indian Air Force.more

1997 the Government has taken great strides to make our defence exports licensing
system one of the most rigorous and open in the world. This Annual Report,
the sixth of its kind, is a symbol of our commitment to transparency. It
contains details of licensing decisions in 2002 together with information
on exports, a summary of recent policy developments and information on the
Government's licence processing performance. more

The DESO Strategic Marketing Plan sets out the priorities and activities
associated with meeting DESO’s mission to “maximise legitimate
UK defence exports in co-ordination with industry”. The Plan reflects
the continuing dialogue with UK industry and aims to encourage further exchanges,
particularly with smaller and medium sized companies, about DESO support
in
marketing their products. more

The DESO SME (Small & Medium Enterprise)
Business Unit provides first line export-related support and
advice to all UK defence SMEs. The Unit can help SMEs to identify
and pursue current and future prospects and provide them with
a range of marketing information, both directly and via the DESO
Website partners area. It can also facilitate advice from DESO
specialists in finance, offset, Industrial Participation, niche
market products along with a range of military-related equipment
support and demonstration.
