website and all of the services that it offers. It also covers our educational
site, the Learning Curve (www.learningcurve.gov.uk) it does not cover any
other site, or any site that we link to.
The National Archives websites do capture personal
information about our visitors. You may choose to give us personal information,
such as your name and postal or email address that may be
needed, for example, to correspond with you or to provide you with a
subscription. This information is used only for the purposes for which
it is given and is not passed on to a third party.
Cookies are used in the bookshop, Catalogue, DocumentsOnline
and the ordering copies of documents sections of the site for remembering the
options visitors select as they navigate through the section. These cookies
do not contain any personal information and will not persist for more than
7 days after you leave the section.
This website may log your IP address, which is automatically recognised by the website, and information such as the duration of the visit and type of browser used. This information is used for system administration and may additionally be used to provide statistics to evaluate the use of the website. It will not be used for any other purposes.
Customers may pay for chargeable services using their
credit/debit cards. These transactions are conducted using the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) secure website. Email addresses are used to
permit the helpdesk to corroborate a caller's bona fide identity in the
event of an account query related to a particular session.
