Single Payment Scheme

The scheme introduced by EC Council Regulation 1782/2003, will replace most existing crop and livestock payments as from 1 January 2005.

Arable Area Payments Scheme (AAPS)

The Scheme offers payments per hectare to growers of cereals, oilseeds, protein crops, linseed, flax, and hemp for fibre. Payments are also made for “set-aside” (land taken out of food production) subject to certain conditions.  The following scheme information is available:

The other three United Kingdom devolved Agriculture Departments, have their own AAPS administration sections.

England Rural Development Programme

There are a number land based schemes within the ERDP, in particular:

  1. A scheme for Energy Crops.
  2. Organic Farming Scheme.
  3. Schemes to protect and enhance the rural environment.

The other three United Kingdom devolved Agriculture Departments, have their own Rural Development Programmes.

Rural Payments Agency

The RPA manages the following EC schemes for the United Kingdom's four Agriculture Departments:

  1. Aid for Dehydrated fodder.
  2. Olive Oil Consumption Aid.
  3. Grain Legumes.
  4. Sugar derived chemicals.
  5. Cereal based starches.
