General Register Office for Scotland Publication Scheme

All Scottish public authorities have produced a document called a publication scheme which explains what information they already make available or intend to make available.

The General Register Office for Scotland is a Scottish public authority, and has produced its own publication scheme as required by Section 23 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Requests for Information

The business of GROS is to provide information about Scotland’s people. GROS receives many requests for information which are processed routinely by our branches. Details of the information that we hold can be found at part 12 of the publication scheme.

Occasionally, GROS receives a Freedom of Information request for information which GROS does not produce routinely. Details of these requests can be found at Non Routine Freedom of Information Requests.
