The Better Regulation Executive: making regulation work for everyone
Government departments should carry out a full public consultation whenever options are being considered for a new policy or if new regulation is planned. For more information about how and when to carry out a consultation, visit the Guidance on the Code of Practice on Consultation. The guidance gives information and advice on the broad consultation process, including informal consultation, as well as formal written consultation.
