Welcome to the UK FSC Website

Welcome to the Financial Sector Continuity website. This website has been established by the UK's Tripartite Authorities (HM Treasury, the Bank of England and the Financial Services Authority) to provide a central point of information about work on continuity planning that is relevant to the UK's financial sector.



Tripartite Initiatives

  • 16 October 2008: Market-wide Exercise 2008 - Update (16/10/2008).

    The Tripartite Authorities have decided to reschedule the Market-Wide Exercise 2008, due to take place on 18 and 26 November, into the new year. This decision has been taken in light of global market conditions and feedback from the industry. However, exercise preparations will continue in line with the original schedule, so that the exercise will be substantially ready for implementation as and when financial market conditions are judged to be conducive.

  • 24 July 2008: Exercise material from the Market-wide Exercise 2006 released (24/07/2008).

    The Tripartite Authorities invites non-participants to share the benefits of exercise play via access to the dedicated exercise sites which were used by participants during the Market-wide Exercise 2006.

  • 18 June 2008: Market-wide Pandemic Exercise 2006 Progress Report (18/06/2008).

    The Market-wide Exercise in October and November 2006 highlighted a number of challenges that would face the financial sector in the event of a flu pandemic. This report describes the progress made by a series of working groups which have considered how the sector might improve its ability to respond to the challenges and thus enhance its resilience.

  • 12 June 2008: 2008 Resilience Benchmarking Discussion Paper (12/06/2008).

    The 2008 Resilience Benchmarking Project Discussion Paper was published on 12 June. The 2008 findings are encouraging, indicating that the financial sector continues to improve, particularly in areas such as planning, testing, and resiliency.

  • 26 November 2007: Recovery Site Providers' Statement of Intent (26/11/2007).

    This Statement of Intent describes how recovery site providers aim to maintain their service during a pandemic and should assist all their customers to better prepare. All customers are encouraged to examine their contracts to check that they have the cover that they need and to discuss with their provider any areas of uncertainty.
