On Monday the Cabinet will travel to Birmingham for the first of Gordon Brown’s regional Cabinet meetings.
In the morning ministers will be out visiting organisations and groups involved in manufacturing, healthcare, community policing and employment and skills. Later they will hold an engagement event, including a Q&A session, with members of the public.

Ahead of the start of the Paralympic Games in Beijing, Gordon Brown has sent a message of good luck to all the British competitors wishing “our Paralympic athletes every success”.
Over 200 athletes across 18 sports will be competing in Britain’s Paralympic squad.
