New Guidance to support NHS staff improve access to services for disabled people
Officially launched on 24th October 2006 by Dr Kevin Woods, the Head of the Scottish Executive Health Department and Chief Executive of NHSScotland, the good practice guidance has been developed by the Fair for All – Disability team, to assist all staff within NHSScotland to understand and meet their responsibilities under Part 3 of the Disability Discrimination Act. Part 3 covers rights of access to goods, services, facilities and premises for disabled people. The publication is a comprehensive online document providing both information about policies, practices and procedures, and also practical advice including checklists, case studies and photographs. The Emergency Care Summary Leaflet
The Emergency Care Summary Leaflet is the first in a series of
leaflets to let the public know about changes to the way the NHS in
Scotland store health records. The leaflet informs you about something
new - the Emergency Care Summary Record - which all patients in Scotland
will soon have and the benefits it will bring. It also explains how, in
the future, all your health records will be stored and linked electronically,
and why that will be good for your health care.

Guidance Intranet
Clinical referral guidelines presented as easy to follow flowcharts,
with additional drug information and patient leaflets. Based on
national guidelines and good practice, it is produced by ECCI-Grampian
and RCGP North East Faculty for its GPs and other health professionals.

is an inter-agency document outlining policy and practice guidelines
on relationships and sexual wellbeing when working with people with
learning disabilities in Lothian.
Patient Pathways
This site contains the Patient Pathways developed by the
SEHD Centre for Change and Innovation for NHSScotland. The
Patient Pathways cover around 80 conditions and provide GPs
with information on: diagnostic tips, management tips,
referral criteria and follow up options. They can also be
used as an educational tool and provide sources of patient
information."
