As you will see the hard copy version of the Good Practice Guide provides a "taster" of the detailed information and documentation that can be accessed and downloaded through the interactive CD.

There is a brief summary of the broad outcomes from the 19 pilot sites . On the CD this has been extended to incorporate innovations from non pilot sites too.

The Good Practice Guide has been designed to focus on "The Stages along the Patients Pathway".This theme is replicated and further developed on the CD and users can search for problem or topic by individual steps on the Pathway, by pilot or non pilot site and through the Index.

The eventual intention is to transfer this CD model onto a web based version that could be available for clinicians to add their own local developments and associated learning to add to the repository of good practice in general surgery.

In the meantime , enjoy the opportunity of seeing what lessons have been learnt and experiences and outcomes gained from the 19 general surgery national pilot sites.
