Employment policy and practice

NHS Employers is working with organisations within the NHS to improve the working lives of staff and to promote equality and embrace diversity across the NHS.

This section provides examples, through case studies, of good practice within the NHS. We aim to help NHS organisations learn from others' experience of implementing policy and provide a forum for sharing ideas.

Equality and diversity
Equality and diversity are at the heart of the NHS strategy. Investing in the NHS workforce allows us to deliver a better service and improve patient care in the NHS.

Staff engagement and involvement
NHS Employers is working with the Department of Health (DH) and the NHS trade unions to develop work on staff involvement, staff engagement and the NHS staff survey. Staff engagement and involvement are crucial because involved and engaged staff will we deliver better services for patients.
