Role Redesign

Role redesign aims to improve patient services, tackle staff shortages and increase job satisfaction through the development of new and amended roles. It involves expanding the depth and breadth of roles, creating new jobs or moving tasks up or down a traditional uni-discliplinary ladder.

Role redesign is changing traditional and long-standing barriers to change such as professional boundaries, team structures and hierarchies, existing care processes and established divides between organisations. It can benefit the entire healthcare team from support workers to the medical workforce.

This section provides access to a range of tools to support you in successful role redesign plus information about role redesign in relation to Agenda for Change.

There are many role definitions and  specifications found in the Role Library.
