RSA-Tesco Carbon Calculator (a CCF project) short film

TRANSCRIPT:

The website is where the calculator is based, which will ask questions on people’s lifestyle and at the end of that…

We want all of the people involved to come up with an idea on how they’re going to reduce their footprint, and a competition which will give prices to the best ideas.

We go on to the home page and we felt that we need something to grab your attention. What we call cloud tag. Which you may have herd of it before. And present as a visual way as opposed to having lots of words on the page. What we’re looking at for the home page is whether, one, it’s visually interested, and two, your going to move you forward.

I think it’s really good but there’s a complete white background it doesn’t always stand out. Maybe more child-friendly colour.

I’ll be temped to click on the clouds.

What will actually happen is that it will be quite animated, that the clouds all move around so you feel like something is happening, and hopefully draw you to that part of the page.

Maybe like something comes out of it…… right.

What would you do?

What could you do on that page?

The calculator which is blue…….. to calculate the emission and merge with the project things. So it will have a different colour there.

Because the whole website is basically based on the calculator, make that big, if I went on that now I wouldn’t really know where it was, so I think it should be a lot bigger and bold so you get attracted to that.

Do you have thoughts on how this was being presented, so this is your carbon footprint? And the collective carbon footprint of the class. Just say that all of your carbon footprints are compared to a different class.

Is this the first screen that you see on the page, so you just started up?

You’ll see the class average of the individuals.

Would they actually know what that is though?

If I just logged and come on to the site saw the score I’ll just be like. Intrigued.

Maybe there’s a sense of ranking of scores you could so you’re going to make it like a competition because you got prices, so instead of putting your score in it sort of introduces the competition.
