Browse background material

You can browse through the Global Dimension Website's online database of teaching resources by choosing a particular type of background material from the list now showing in the left hand margin.

Image of an open bookBy 'Background Material' we mean publications or information which are not in themselves teaching resources, but which can provide helpful advice or information on the global dimension to teaching staff or school managers. These resources are suitable for teachers of all subjects and have been categorised as follows:

  • Assemblies - resources suitable for presenting assemblies
  • Audits - resources to support any auditing or measurement of global dimension activity in school
  • Awards - ways of recognising schools' work in global dimension related activities
  • Background information - resources providing general background, usually on a particular topic
  • Management issues - resources for school leaders and managers
  • Professional development - resources suitable for initial teacher training and continuing professional development
  • Whole School - resources that deal with school ethos, environment and whole-school approaches
