14 September 2006 - A bovine TB special edition of the Government Veterinary Journal (link to Defra website) has recently been published.

4 August 2006 - There will be strong GVS representation at the BVA Congress 2006 with Debby Reynolds CVO, Alick Simmons, Veterinary Diretor FSA, and Ann Waters, SVS, all contributing to the session on New Opportunities on the Saturday morning. The Congress will be held at the Cavendish Conference Centre London on 26-27 September 2006.

Defra and GVS will also have a stand at the conference this year. If you are coming to the Congress please come to the stand and catch up with what's happening in the GVS.

3 August 2006 - Alick Simmons, Veterinary Director, Food Standards Agency, gave a talk at the RCVS symposium "Postcards from the Future - the future of the veterinary profession" Adobe acrobat pdf file (20 KB) on 16 June 2006. The talk was also published in an article for the Veterinary Times.

27 July 2006 - A note of the GVS Steering Group meeting held at Bath on 6 June 2006 together with an Information Pack.

Two notes of the meeting on undergraduate teaching in Veterinary Public Health in the UK held on 11 May 2006 at the University of Nottingham School of Veterinary Medicine & Science.

1 June 2006 - Cambridge Veterinary School are holding "Research into Practice" training courses. These courses of one week duration will expose veterinarians to: evidence based veterinary medicine: research project design: statistical analysis: scientific writing skills and workshop discussions. The next Research into Practice course will be held from 25 - 29 September 2006. Further details are available.

4 April 2006 - A short note about the joint GVS/AGV Conference held on 21/22 March 2006 together with presentations from the 2 days is available.

31 March 2006 - On 28 February 2006 the Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer visited the Royal Veterinary College. A copy of an article that gives an overview of the visit is now available.

1 March 2006 - The inaugural meeting of the GVS/Veterinary College Liaison Working Group took place on 11th January 2006.
