HMS Southampton’s newly formed basketball team played their first game in an international tournament against sides from the USA, Chile and France in Mejillones, Chile, at the start of Exercise Teamwork South.
- A core part of Exercise Teamwork South was the opportunity for the navies of the participating nations to work together, not only during the seagoing phase, but also taking part in joint sports and social events.
- HMS Southampton’s first eleven football team took on the local league champions, the Barbados Defence Force during their recent visit to Barbados.
