  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 — we work to meet the minimum double-A checkpoints

We believe making a website accessible is about more than simply meeting a set of technical standards. The National Archives is committed to user centered design, which means involving users at all stages of our design work. As part of that commitment, the web team actively works in partnership with disabled people to explore ways to improve our online services.

We know we don't always get it right and welcome feedback. If you would like to contact us and share your experience you can email the webteam at webmaster@nationalarchives.gov.uk.

We have a rolling program of accessibility improvements to our current web services and think of accessibility as a core requirement for our new online work.
