• David Miliband, Foreign Secretary
  David Miliband was appointed as Foreign Secretary in June 2007. He was previously Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and has been the Member of Parliament for South Shields since June 2001.
• Jim Murphy, Minister for Europe
  Jim Murphy is the Minister for Europe and MP for East Renfrewshire. He wants to encourage more informed debate about Europe and the Reform Treaty. Jim wants to hear your views on how the EU is doing, and to encourage discussion through this blog.
• Frances Guy, Ambassador to the Republic of Lebanon
  Frances Guy is British Ambassador to the Republic of Lebanon. She has been in Beirut with her husband and three children since October 2006. She joined the FCO in 1986 and has spent most of her professional life in East Africa and the Arab world.
• Maria Pia Gazzella, Trade Officer, Santiago
  Maria Pia Gazzella has been Trade and Investment Officer at the British Embassy in Chile since 1998. Last year she won the Commercial Attaché of the Year award. She is currently studying for an MBA at the Universidad Católica in Santiago.
• Ruairi O’Connell, Deputy Head of the British Office in Pristina
  The British Office is the UK’s Diplomatic Mission in Kosovo. Ruairi arrived in Pristina in 2004, working as head of the Political Section before becoming the Deputy Head of Mission.
• Sarah Russell, new entrant
  Sarah Russell will join the Diplomatic Service in October 2007. She graduated from King’s College London in July 2007 with a degree in War Studies and History, focusing on international relations and international politics.

  Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles is Ambassador to Afghanistan. He has also served as British Ambassador in Saudi Arabia and Israel, and as Principal Private Secretary to the late Robin Cook. He is currently learning Pashto, in addition to speaking French, Arabic, and some Hebrew.
