HISTORICAL PAPERS: INTERNAL HISTORIES

FCO Internal Histories are occasional studies by former or serving officials, commissioned to provide background information for members of the FCO. They are not written for publication, but some Internal Histories, which offer fresh insights into British diplomacy, are now being declassified for publication by Whitehall History Publishing in association with Frank Cass. The first in this series, Britain's Entry into the European Community: Report on the Negotiations of 1970-1972 by Sir Con O'Neill (edited and with a Foreword by Sir David Hannay), was published in 2000.
