Counter-Proliferation Department (CPD) leads the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's efforts to deter, check and where possible roll back the spread of WMD, delivery systems (particularly ballistic missiles) and related technology. CPD is also responsible for the FCO's role in export control policy and export licensing for military and dual-use goods. Security Policy Department (SecPol) leads on work to counter the proliferation of small arms and light weapons (SALW).
