On 21 January 2004, the Government announced plans to review the provisions in the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 1990 (the HFE Act) which has led to a new Bill, the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill, introduced into the Houses of Parliament on 8 November 2007.
A review of the existing legislation in light of new procedures, changes in public perceptions and the need to ensure effective regulation.
