The Department of Health is extending the use of the OGC Gateway Project Review Process (TM) to further support the delivery of the programme and projects across the whole of the DH, its arms-length bodies and the NHS The term, Gateway here refers to OGC Gateway TM and that OGC Gateway TM is a Trade Mark of the Office of Government Commerce.

The Gateway Project Review Process applies to all projects and programmes within the Department of Health and it’s associated arms length bodies. The process also applies to all high risk and some medium risk projects and programmes within the NHS. The Gateway process can also be applied to the management of expenditure projects and to the planning of policy or change initiatives with relatively small expenditure.

There is much anecdotal evidence that Gateway Reviews are worthwhile and Project Owners (SROs) and teams are highly complimentary about the benefits they get from Gateway Reviews.
