Thames Fisheries

Summary

Our role includes looking after the fish in all waters of the region, protecting their habitat and where possible, work to increase their numbers. We also actively encourage fishing as a healthy past time, which enables people from all walks of life to engage with their local environment. All of this work is paid for by rod license money collected.

Our work is varied but includes:

  • Monitoring fish populations
  • Improving fish habitats
  • Responding to emergencies
  • Increasing the opportunities for people to fish
  • Promoting fishing
