Being an expert voice

We make the information we collect available to a wide range of people and organisations.

Get hold of this information and find out more below.

How we use our expert voice

We use our inspection evidence and specialist knowledge to promote best practice and help people in local and central government who are responsible for developing policies.

We publish inspection reports for individual care services which we make available on this website.

We also publish special studies looking at themes and issues that affect all care services.

Once a year we publish the State of social care in England. This report tells the Government and the public about the quality of social care and how well public money is being spent.

We also work closely with the Healthcare Commission, Ofsted, the Audit Commission and other inspectorates.

This allows us to carry out joint inspection work and look at how well a range of public services work together to help the people they serve.
