How to compile an appraisal report
Appraisal toolkits
The National Archives has recently developed a set of toolkits for the appraisal of digital records. They are ideally suited for the appraisal of digital records created in agencies, Non-Departmental Public Bodies (NDPBs) etc, but may be adapted to apply to a function or division of a central government department, or to apply to an agency paper records as well.
The toolkits have been in development since 2004 and subject to many tests and discussions with UK government departments. They are currently being introduced to UK public record bodies through an on-going, rolling training programme.
