Contract Opportunities
The Vehicle & Operator Services Agency’s Procurement Unit is based at its Bristol headquarters. A centralised support function, the Procurement Unit’s primary task is to arrange contracts for the goods and services, which keep VOSA functioning effectively. We let contracts for anything from elastic bands to electricity, mobile phones to mobile roller brake testers.
The Unit seeks to obtain best value for money by identifying the most cost-effective methods of purchasing and contracting for a wide range of goods and services.
The Unit also offers advice to VOSA staff on contractual issues and provides a range of other services including supplier and product sourcing and assistance in the drafting of specifications.
The Procurement Unit and VOSA’s suppliers
The Procurement Unit is committed to making it as easy as possible for existing and potential suppliers to trade with the VOSA. We:
- aim to promote the Procurement Unit as the primary point of focus for companies interested in doing business with the Agency.
- are keen to introduce "new blood" into our supplier base.
- aim to ensure as great a degree of competition for our business as possible.
Cross-Agency Collaboration
The Unit liaises closely with the Procurement and Estates Division of the Department for Transport (DfT), its sister agencies in the Driver Vehicle and Operator (DVO) Group (DVLA, DSA, VCA) and the Office of Government Commerce
(OGC) - established to promote collaboration and improve procurement practices across Government Departments.
