Consultation on draft regulations to amend the Education (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators) (England) Regulations 2008, to require school governing bodies to ensure that SENCOs new to the role undertake nationally approved training.

This consultation paper invites views from interested parties on the draft Code of Practice for Youth Conditional Cautions for 16 and 17 year olds that will be piloted during 2009. The Code governs the use of these Youth Conditional Cautions as stipulated by the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008.

This consultation seeks views on draft Regulations made under section 20(3) of the Children and Young Persons Act 2008. The Regulations set out the qualifications and experience which will be required of designated teachers in maintained schools. We are also consulting on the content of the draft statutory guidance to governing bodies of maintained schools (to be issued under section 20(4) of the Act).
