Caring for Birmingham & Sandwell

Since its launch in 1979, the Hospice has cared for tens of thousands of people with conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease and MS.

Often referred to by patients and relatives as ‘angels’, our nurses are renowned for going that extra mile to ensure people with life-limiting illnesses enjoy the best possible quality of life.

And we provide this service for as long as families need us.

"… a huge thank you to all of you for your never ending smiles, thoughtfulness and caring ways. You really do make a difference to people’s lives, both in your care and their families. Be proud of the work you do."

What a Difference a Day Makes

Birmingham St Mary's Day Hospice makes a huge difference to our patients and their relatives. It offers medical support, a range of therapies and a chance to get out and about and meet people. It also gives carers some much-needed time off.

But after more than 20 years service, the Day Hospice had become in need of a facelift. We felt patients would be better served by a new centre. So we've embarked on a major refurbishment project, which is now nearing completion.

Most of the fundraising has been done, but we still have a little way to go to add the finishing touches to this vital element of our work. We've put together a short DVD, which we hope will inspire you to support this important campaign. Please click here to view the film and find out more.

Love Driving, Love Your Hospice

We're looking for a number of competent drivers to make a huge difference to our Day Hospice patients. If you have a few hours to spare and enjoy driving and meeting new people, we'd love to hear from you. For more info click here.
