WasteDataFlow is an internet based system for local authority data reporting. Data collection is quarterly and returns are due within 3 months of the end of each quarter in England. The aims are to provide more frequent and timely data and to reduce the number of different surveys officials must complete. In addition it is used by the Environment Agency to monitor Landfill Allowance Trading Scheme (LATS) from 2005/6. WasteDataFlow will also allow benchmarking against other authorities. WasteDataFlow has replaced the Defra Municipal Waste Management Survey for 2004/5 onwards.
