Civil Service Code

The Civil Service Code sets out the core values of the Civil Service –

  • honesty
  • impartiality
  • integrity
  • objectivity

It also sets out the standards of behaviour expected of civil servants.

The Code, which forms part of the terms and conditions of every civil servant, was first introduced in 1996.  It was reviewed after ten years and a new Code was issued on 6 June 2006.
