Refund for disqualified directors’ bulk data products purchased before 1 October 2009
Q1. Who will receive a refund?
Anyone who purchased the disqualified directors’ bulk data products directly from Companies House prior to 1 October 2009. The products are:
Q2. Why is Companies House refunding customers who purchased disqualified directors’ bulk data before 1 October 2009?
Companies House has provided these disqualified director bulk data products for many years.
When reviewing our fees as part of the Companies Act 2006 implementation on 1 October 2009, we realised that there was sufficient doubt of our power to charge for these products and therefore we are taking the precautionary measure of issuing a refund to customers who purchased any of these products prior to 1 October 2009.
Q3. What about products purchased after 1 October 2009?
Since 1 October 2009, the power to charge for these products has come under the Framework Agreement signed by the Secretary of State for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills . The fees are:
A refund will be issued to all customers who have purchased any of these products before 1 October 2009.
Q4. Will there still be a charge for any of these products purchased after 1 October 2009?
Yes. See question 3 above.
Q5. Are all customers who purchased these products directly from Companies House before 1 October 2009 entitled to a refund?
Q6. I purchased this product from a third party supplier, will I receive a refund?
Unfortunately as you purchased the product from a third party supplier, Companies House is unable to assist. You need to contact the company from whom you purchased the information. Companies House can only refund monies that were paid to Companies House.
Q7. How do I receive a refund?
Companies House has records of who purchased these products before 1 October 2009 and will contact these customers direct.
Q8. I haven’t received my refund yet, what do I do?
We may not hold electronic payment details of your purchase and as a result have not manually refunded you. If you have not received a refund by 31st December 2010, you should write to Companies House at the following address giving your name, the dates you purchased the product(s), an invoice slip and a telephone number. We will contact you by telephone and we may ask for payment details.

Applications for all disqualified directors bulk datarefunds should be made in writing to Companies House. Please see question 8 above.
