The Department's international policy relates to international activities, including international trade of healthcare and heathcare products, treatment in EU countries and healthcare for asylum seekers and refugees.
This is a guide primarily for DH staff. It will help DH work more effectively internationally. It sets out objectives for our international work and describes the roles and responsibilities of different parts of DH. The role that the DH has in taking forward the government's global health strategy is also discussed.
The THET and British Council Funding scheme supported by DFID and DH has been launched. This forms one of the recommendations following on from the Government's response to Lord Crisp report: Global health partnerships: the UK contribution to health in developing countries
The UK Government has agreed the first cross-Government Institutional Strategy (IS) with the World Health Organization (WHO).
