- Minister of State for Care Services Phil Hope speaks to the Guardian
Phil Hope took the opportunity of his visit to Tower Drive day care Centre in Milton Keynes, where the Primary Care Trust and Milton Keynes Council social care combine to provide a full range of services, to talk about the importance of integration and personalisation for a sustainable Social Care programme in which people are able to live independently for as long as possible.
- The State of Care in England
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has released it's annual report on the state of health and adult social care in England. CQC point out that services will be operating in a different environment in future, with pressure on finances adding to continuing increases in demand and rising expectations. It said that the next big challenge for health and social care is to accelerate efforts to make services more joined up and centred around people's needs.
- National Evaluation of Partnerships for Older People Projects (POPPs): Final report
The Final evaluation of POPPs was published today along with a new DVD resource. The final evaluation of the programme found that a wide range of projects resulted in improved quality of life for participants and considerable savings, as well as better local working relationships.

- NHS Operating Framework for England 2010-2011
The 2010-2011 operating framework for the NHS was launched in December. This refers to the increasing importance of integration and makes specific reference to integrated working within the NHS and wider care economy. In particular, emphasising more user-focussed integrated care pathways to deliver better outcomes and transform community services.
