Search Resources
SEARCH RESOURCES is the quickest and simplest way of searching, allowing you to enter your search terms in one go.
- You can use AND, OR and NOT to combine your search terms together. They do not have to be typed in upper case.
- EXACT PHRASE to search for a phrase, use quotation marks, for example, "diabetic neuropathy" will return results that contain both words diabetic and neuropathy next to each other in this order.
- AND finds results with all your terms included (this is what the search does automatically). i.e. Entering asthma child holding will search for a document which includes all three terms in any order: You could also enter asthma AND child AND holding.
- OR finds results with any, but not necessarily all of your terms (so you might use it to search for synonyms or alternative spellings, e.g. hypertension OR "high blood pressure", oestrogen OR estrogen.
- NOT excludes any words you specify, e.g. cancer NOT breast.

- The search also includes a spell checker as shown below. If you did want to search the suggested term displayed after Did you mean: click on it and the search will be re-run with that term.

Documents which match your search will be returned in tabbed pages depending on their source group of resources.
- Clicking on the More detail button for a document or the document title will provide more information on the document.
- For some records e.g., Bandolier reports, the full document will display when you select the title.
- Some records will include a link to full text. Selecting this link will display the full document for you to read, save or print.
- Not all records will have full text of the documents available. To see more full text links log on with your Athens password before you search.
