Promoting positive health throughout life.

The Welsh Assembly Government is working to improve health and reduce inequalities in health. This includes giving everyone equal access to health facilities and services.

Our approach

Our approach to health improvement is to promote positive health throughout life - from healthy children to healthy ageing.  We do this by encouraging lifestyle changes that will improve health, and by supporting your community to change a range of factors affecting health in the environment, the workplace, and local government.

Our focus is on preventing ill health in the first place, and on addressing problems at an early stage.

From here you can get more information on health improvement for older people, children and young people, including advice on health during pregnancy.  You can access information relating to health at work and in the community.

This area also covers how food, physical activity, or smoking can affect your health.  If you need advice on areas relating to sexual health or would like health tips for every season, you can get it here.
