How to search for vacancies on the Public Appointments website

You can search in a number of ways. Use each method indiviudally or in combination to filter results.

Keyword search

You can use more than one keyword if you’re looking for an exact phrase. If you get less results that expected try searching using one keyword only.

The keyword search will return vacancies that match the keyword in:

  • Vacancy title
  • Vacancy description
  • Area of work
  • Skills
  • Reference number
  • Department
  • Location/region

Region search and Department search

Looking for vacancies in more than one region or department

If you’d like to search more than one region or department you can use hold the ‘Ctrl‘ key + left mouse button – to select multiple departments and/or regions.

There is no ‘weighting’ or preference given to these fields and you do not need to complete any of them if you do not want to. This will of course return far more jobs though.
