As outlined in All Approval Holder Letter 07/2004 information updates have replaced news updates as the means of notifying approval holders and interested parties of non-policy information such as details of training courses, workshops or seminars.
This is a list of information updates. Where no hyperlink is available, the information update has been removed from the web site as the document is out of date. If you require further details, please contact our information section (pesticides@hse.gsi.gov.uk)
Historical references to PSD: Where a reference to PSD was made in one of these updates, this has not been changed to CRD (the name for the organisation since 1st April 2009), since these documents are a record of communications sent out at a specific time in the past.

Information Update 13/2010
Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) and 2-phenylphenol, safeners and synergists
This is a replacement for Information Update 25/2008 (issued on 20 November 2008) and updated on 16 April 2010. 2-phenylphenol (safeners and synergists) are not currently subject to MRLs under Regulation 396/2005. However, this situation will change in the future.

Following the revocation of Agrotech Chlorthalonil 500SC (MAPP 13176) on 19 May 2010 (Regulatory Update 13/2010), CRD has been made aware that there is conflicting information circulating in the industry. This Information Update provides background to why the decision was taken to revoke Agrotech Chlorthalonil 500SC’s approval.

CRD Statement Regarding Existing Stocks of Indian Grapes Containing Residues of Chlormequat
CRD has taken exceptional limited action to allow marketing of grapes already in the UK supply and retail chain provided the residue levels are below the acute threshold of 1.06 mg/kg calculated by EFSA.

Norfolk potato grower admits use of illegal pesticide
On 20 April 2010 at Ely Magistrates Court, following proceedings taken by the Health and Safety Executive, Mr Thomas John Mott was fined £2,250 and ordered to pay a further £5,000 in costs after pleading guilty to two counts of storing and using an unapproved pesticide.

Changes To Invoicing Procedures at CRD From 1 April 2010
From 1 April 2010 the finance function within the Chemicals Regulation Directorate (CRD) York is being centralised within The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and all invoicing work will be transferred to Bootle. This Information Update gives details of the changes.

Chargeable Service for Downloading Approvals Information in XML Format
CRD is considering introducing a new search application on the website. This will produce product-related information drawn from notices of approval in an XML (eXtensible Markup Language) format for download from our website. Access would be via a fee-based subscription service. This Information Update gives details and requests feedback from stakeholders on the proposal.
