| Important note: We are providing open access to the raw, real time surveillance data for infections and communicable diseases collected for Wales by Public Health Wales. However, care must be taken in the interpretation of these data and we strongly advise that you read the explanatory notes provided below before proceeding to use the data generated using this interactive tool. |
Explanatory notes
Data on the trends in rates of some infections in Wales can be generated interactively by year and by geographical area. These trends can also be obtained by age, sex and Local Health Board (LHB) area. Rates of both laboratory-confirmed cases and notifications of infectious diseases can be requested. These data are generated by
CoSurv.
However users should be aware that these data are provided with certain caveats. These are:
- The data provided are raw data and therefore have not yet been subject to data cleaning (checking for duplicates and errors)
- The data, especially that for the most recent years, maybe incomplete and liable to change
- Differences in small numbers should not necessarily be interpreted as reflecting real differences
- Local health board and area data may not be complete and so geographical trend data should be interpreted with caution
These data are made available with these caveats to enable universal access to timely data on broad trends in infectious diseases in Wales. Please click on the box below to access the interactive data generator facility.
