You can improve the energy efficiency of your home in ways sympathetic to its historic character.  For example by draught-proofing, improving insulation or bringing internal shutters back into use.  Changing to a condensing flue gas boiler and improving heating controls or the introduction of secondary glazing can also significantly improve energy performance.
