Department for Culture Media and Sport

freedom of information

Welcome to the Department's Freedom of Information (FoI) pages. Within these pages you will find guidance on how to make a FoI request and information already published by the Department. You will also find out if the information you require is covered by another Act.

The Freedom of Information Act came into force at the beginning of 2005. It deals with access to official information, while parallel regulations deal with environmental information.

The Act provides individuals or organisations with the right to request information held by a public authority.
