Food experts come to Dundee

Members of the public will be able to raise any food-related issues that affect them at the Scottish Food Advisory Committee (SFAC) meeting on Wednesday 2 September.
Anyone with an interest in food is invited to come along and air their views on the issues that are important to them.
Topics on the agenda include Scotland’s Food and Drink Policy, front-of-pack labelling and saturated fat consultations: SFAC’s sub groups updates, the Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition's Draft Report on Iron and Health and SFAC’s Draft Response.
Professor Graeme Millar CBE, SFAC Chair, said: 'We want people to come along, listen to the discussion and share their views on the food-related issues that matter to them.
'The meeting is open to members of the public, food producers, retailers, local authority representatives and anyone else with an interest in food. We are committed to listening to the views of Scottish stakeholders and putting consumers first.'
The meeting will take place at the Apex City Quay Hotel, 1 West Victoria Dock Road, Dundee, DD1 3JP from 9.30am – 12.30pm.

- SFAC was established in 2000 to provide independent advice and information on a variety of topics such as food safety and standards to the FSA in Scotland. The Committee consists of 11 members who provide a wide base of knowledge on food-related issues. Its Chair, Professor Graeme Millar CBE, is also a member of the FSA Board.
