THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

Joining the Army as a Territorial means that you do all your training and military duties in your spare time. It makes it possible to get many of the benefits of Army life and combine them with your civilian life and career. You’ll be paid for all the time you spend with the Army, and you’ll also have the chance to go on operations.

WHAT IS THE TA?

So you want to be a part of Army life in your spare time? The first thing to do is talk to your local Army Careers Adviser. They can help arrange a visit to some Territorial units, where you can see what it’s like for yourself and talk to some of the soldiers. Why not see if you're ready for the next step?

GET PAID TO TRAIN

As a Territorial you’re paid for all the time you spend training. You also get a bonus payment if you complete a certain amount of training each year.

TRAINING AND SKILLS

You can choose a job that develops your existing skills, or helps you learn new ones – and everyone learns the same military skills as part of their training.
