104 Force Support Battalion

104 FS Bn REME is one of the largest battalions in the Corps of REME. It's known as a Hybrid Battalion because its mix of Regular and TA soldiers.

The regular element of the Battalion are mainly based in Tidworth. The TA elements are based in Bordon, Northampton, Rotherham and Scunthorpe and total some 250 soldiers of various REME trades.

The Battalions Role is to train and provide volunteer soldiers and officers to deploy on Operations but there are also many other opportunities for you to take hold of. Currently, we have soldiers serving on operations in Afghanistan and we've previously provided soldiers for Iraq, Cyprus, Canada and the Balkans.

Who are we looking for?

The TA can be very rewarding and offer many activities that you would not find in a normal day to day job. In return we need motivated and enthusiastic men and women with an engineering mindset who are prepared to give time to undertake an exiting challenge.

You don't need any military or engineering background, although this would help, as all military and trade training is provided. For us to train you all we ask is that you attend 27 days training a year (weekends/evenings of your choice and a 2 week 'annual camp').

Whilst you attend training you will be paid, a rate which will depend upon your rank, and if you attend the 27 days and pass your annual test receive a 'bounty' payment of between £500 - £1600, enough for a good holiday! If this sounds good and you want to give it a go then please contact us.
