Check out Saturday 1 December 2001 on one of those ‘On this day’ websites and you get pretty slim pickings. S Club 7 went straight to No. 1 in the charts with ‘Have you ever’, a song that I confess I can’t instantly call to mind, although the absence of a question mark in the title remains a mystery, even ten years on.
