ARCHIVE: Champions' Group: Ethical trading
An Industry led Champions’ Group was formed to identify how the food industry can double the number of food products covered by ethical trading schemes. The group membership was made up of representatives from industry, government and the third sector.
The starting point for the work of this group was the key action point on ethical trading which can be found on page 77 of the Strategy Document (see also below). The final report of the Group can be found below.

Key FISS Action point (p77)
The aim is to double the amount or percentage of food goods in supermarkets covered by ethical trading schemes by 2008. Government and industry to establish a Ethical Trade Forum for ongoing discussion between stakeholders (industry, workers, Government, consumers, civil society) to establish a framework for ethical trade within the food industry, a mechanism for sharing lessons learned, identifying best practice and ways of measuring progress. To report by spring 2007.
