Viewing and Responding to Current Consultation Papers

When proposals for regulations are formally referred to the SSAC by the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions or the Northern Ireland Department responsible for social security, the Committee generally initiates public consultation with interested bodies and individuals. This process is described in more detail in About SSAC/Remit

This section gives details of any consultation exercises currently underway. Clicking on one of the consultation papers listed below opens both the Department for Work and Pensions' explanatory memorandum - which describes the proposals on which we are consulting - the draft regulations and a copy of our press notice announcing the consultation exercise. Alternatively, to obtain hard copies, contact us. When the Active Consultation Documents section is empty, this indicates that there are no consultation exercises in progress.

If you would like to make representations to the Committee on a current consultation, click on Respond Now.

Please note:

Consultation exercises operate within strict time limits.
