AHVLA Scientific offers a unique, comprehensive bio-imaging service for research and diagnostic purposes to customers in both the public and animal health sectors. Backed by 40 years experience, our ISO 9001 certified imaging centre is well placed to offer a high quality service and a diagnostic capability across a wide range of micro-organisms including high level containment facilities for a range of pathogens.
The service includes:
- Transmission and scanning electron microscopy
- Confocal laser scanning microscopy
- Sample preparation, image production and identification
- Training and support for customers to enhance their skills
- Equipment rental for customers own projects
Techniques available include:
- Cell ultrastructure, bacteria, virus and fungi examinations
- Rapid negative staining for viral diagnosis from fresh field samples
- Non-invasive live cell examination
- X-Ray microanalysis
- Examination of coated and dehydrated conducting biological samples as well as hydrated samples
